Gluten evidence - not belief

Many doctors (including gastroenterologists) believe that gluten blood tests (that it anti-gliadin antibodies (AGA), also called IgG-gliadin antibody) are meaningless and waste money. These medics believe that the only clinical condition that gluten can cause is celiac disease.

However, there is now a load of evidence to support the fact that adverse immunolical reactions to gluten can cause neurological harm, can trigger auto-immune disease and precipitate mental illness.

I am astonished by this blatant disregard of the worldwide medical evidence and the gluten-free benefits derived by their patients. How much evidence do they need? How many more people need to suffer?

My view is that such an important subject should not be a matter of “belief”. It is about facts: look at the evidence.

  1. Perhaps it would be good for you to include a few links to the evidence. Otherwise your blog comes across as opinion only.

This is so true. The GP I saw today dismissed my gluten reaction as being caused by anxiety because I tested negative to celiacs disease.

Oh how I wish you could get the NZ government on your side to send out this information to the medical profession. Maybe then they wouldn't be so quick to dismiss patients as having 'anxiety' only.
